Induction Training - this is the initial basic training that an employee receives when they first start working at a job. The training will include how to perform their job as well as showing them around the building they are working in.

On-the-job training - this is where an employee is given training while they are working.
Advantages:
- It is much cheaper than alternative methods
- It can be tailored to the specific job they are doing
- It doesn't take away staff from working normally to give training
Disadvantages:
- It may be regarded as less valuable
- It can be regarded as tedious and a waste of time by other employees
Off-the-job training - this is when an employee is given training away from where they work
Advantages:
- Many workers regard it as a perk and are motivated by the time away
- It is an opportunity to spend time with colleagues in a different environment, which may the relations between employees better
Disadvantages:
- It will be more expensive than on-the-job training
- It may be regarded as a waste of time and money by employees
